Dusting off the skates
You would think that working at an ice rink one might play alot of hockey. For awhile that is true. However, lately I have hardly played. Over the last two months, I have only played 3 or 4 times and one of those nights was a four game roller hockey ("derby") tourney, so that shouldn't even count. I hate derby hockey.
Anyway, the place that I work for is moving the "guaranteed" 7:30-9:30 ice time and screwing those who have pre-paid. This is the last week of the early slot so with two small children, I am going to play tonight. I am will be proudly sporting the Iceholes jersey for possibly the last time until the fall league... if there is one.
I will be sure to wear the face mask and be careful as to not send my brother and sister-in-law into a frenzy by coming to the rehearsal dinner and wedding this weekend with a black eye or broken bone!!
